Lute- Günter Peuzel, Markneukirchen
The lute was a very popular instrument. Because it is so quiet and delicate it was mainly played in a small privat setting.
The instrument that is used here was actually developed at the beginning of our century. Its basic shape is quite similar to the historic Mandora. The Aarabian Ud on the other hand with the bellied shape of its body and the stringing in courses of two strings bears a much closer resemblance to the renaissance lute.
