A digital Carillon for the electronic music studio
The Soundbytes Carillon delivers anauthentic and most realistic rendition
of the Carillon instrument in the
wooden church of Hahnenklee.
Twentyfour tuned church bells are
covering a musical range of two
octaves.
The instruments expressive
scope is brought out in full through
136 distinct stereo samples.
The detailed multisample employs
up to six velocity splits per semitone.
This allows a musical expression
almost indistinguishable from the
original instrument.
In the peaceful surrounding of the remote location we were able to capture in full length the undisturbed decay of the bells that ring for up to thirty seconds. The sample size of the complete set is 226 MB.
