readme
Thank You for your interest in our tiny Carillon.
We sincerely hope that our sounds will be a source of inspiration to You
and will help to enhance your music.

Please read the first steps chapter of this readme document before setting up the triny Carillon with your Sampler.

The Showcase links will introduce You to our Banchetto Musicale and Early Patches Sampling CDs. A couple of free high quality sound sets are available through the download pages of the sites.

If anything in this product should not meet your expectations then please don't hesitate to let me know about it. Even good things can still be made better and your input is our guidance to accomplishing this aim.

first steps:

at first unpack the zip archive to any directory on your computers hard disk. when doing this make sure to keep the directory structure intact.
Otherwise the samples might not be found when the sound is loaded into the sampler.

GigaStudio users

save the file tiny_Carillon.gig to your sample drive. After rebuilding the QuickSound Database the tiny Carillon is available from within the Giga Studio Browser window.
To do this select Settings from the side bar and then the QuickSound tab. Click the Rebuild Database button and lean back.
(Alternatively You can load the gig files from the file menu or by dragging it from the windows file browser into the GigaStudio program window.)

EmulatorX, ProteusX users

Copy the whole Carillon.X folder to your sample drive. Please do not change anything within it manually. You can now access the Soundbytes Carillon banks using the system tab of the sampler.
After updating your library the Soundbytes Carillon presets are available under the Percussion Category.

Users of Kontakt, Halion, Exs24, Virtual Sampler or Project5 Dimension/ SFZ:

Please copy the Samples folder plus the folder with the name of your sampler to the hard drive.  As a Halion user for example You would use the samples folder plus the Carillon.Halion folder. The Carillon Halion folder contains the patch data. It tells your sampler how the sample data it should be used and very importantly: where the sample data is located.
Please put both folders into the same directory on your hard disk.
If for some reason You prefer to use different locations for sample and patch data then the sampler won't find the samples when the patch data is loaded.

You will then be asked to locate the samples manually. After this is done save the bank or program file to make sure that the new location of the samples is remembered.

The SFZ Sample player does not produce an error message when no samples are found. Instead it remains silent without any warning. To modify the sample path in an sfz file open it with a text editor and insert the new sample file path manually for each zone.

We recommend that You load each of the sound sets during the setup procedure and check if the samples are available.

The Exs24 is a bit particular in this respect. It will automatically search all your hard drives if it does not find the sample data in the specified path. After the samples are located the patch files are automatically updated with the new sample file path.
Note: Depending on the size of your hard drives this process can take quite a while and unfortunately it can not be canceled once it has started. So make sure You don't have an impatient customer sitting next to You when You use the Soundbytes Carillon (or any other Soundbank) for the first time with the Exs24.
We recommend the use of the Redmatica ExsManager for the sample management with the Exs24. For windows users there is an older version of the software available for free.
